“The mocker will not have the last laugh. You see, dancing on the grave of an extinguished Christianity is farcical at best. Because the grave is empty. And the one who knows the way out of the grave sits in the heavens and laughs” (Ravi Zacharias)
It is important for us to recognize and remind ourselves that the health and status of America in no way determines the health and status of the Kingdom of God. In other words, when we see, as we are currently seeing, the morality of American decline, we should NOT conclude that Christianity is losing, or that the “pretrib rapture” is near, or that we should be pessimistic or defeated.
Much to the dismay of today’s pietists, the Kingdom of God is not confined to hearts or church buildings. It is not dualistic. Christ does not reign only within our circles. The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it. As Rushdoony stated, this is not a multiverse, but a universe; one God, one Law. The great commission tells us to disciple the nations which is a mere continuation of the dominion mandate given in Genesis.
While we see our country decline, we simultaneously see others flourish. Christianity is booming rapidly in China, Africa, Nepal, etc., places that were once not open to the Gospel. Praise God! The day may come where these countries will be sending missionaries to us!
Here is an exceptional article by Ravi Zacharias making this very point.
