1  Working patience through trials

“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him” (James 1:12)

2  Obedience that accompanies faith

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also” (James 2:26)

3  Restraining the unbridled tongue

“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell” (James 3:6)

4  Keeping calm in conflicts

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up” (James 4:10)

5  Suffering and sick saints

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16)
