Joe Kennedy: Depopulate Your School

joe kennedySo another “defiant” public school employee, this time a high school football coach by the name of Joe Kennedy, has his hand slapped as he seeks to pray in public after his games. In response to a complaint, he was ordered to stop the public prayers, yet was given permission to engage instead in “private prayer.” After refusing to stop these post-game public prayers, his superintendent, Aaron Leavell, placed this longtime coach on administrative leave.

“Effective immediately, pending further District review of your conduct, you are placed on paid administrative leave from your position as an assistant coach with the Bremerton High School football program,” Level wrote to the coach in an Oct. 28th letter. “You may not participate, in any capacity, in BHS football program activities.”

Now there are a million Google hits about this story and I have no intention to adding the same commentary. In fact, there is a story every day in the news on this very issue. (I saw one just today where a mom was furious because a teacher was teaching the class that God is not real. Well of course! Secular humanism ultimately makes each person their own God). However, I noticed that Fox News had a caption that read, “Public schools are shoving Christians in the closet.”

Now that is true! But we should also add that everyone is trying to shove Christians in the closet. Two things to note here:

  1. We have been in the closet for decades. Our boast is that Jesus in Lord in our hearts. It is a personal faith within a personal realm of Lordship and privilege. We believe the Kingdom of God is solely the church and the rest of the world is left to itself. We are not to tell others what they can or can’t do or, heaven forbid, what Jesus has commanded that all men, everywhere do.
  2. Government schools shoved Christians in the closet from its outset. In fact, they flung them right out of the window. Christians parents will continue to fight and protest that their teacher is not accommodating their particular faith or is lying to their children, not realizing that these schools already have a religion, secular humanism, that gives no allowance for the claims of Christianity. It is its own Savior and will not tolerate another who may challenge its authority. It is, ultimately, its own church.

So in the case of Joe Kennedy, good for you in taking a stand; it is truly commendable, but at the end of the day you will be fired. You can fight it, and they will continue to silence you. But there is a better way……

Joe Kennedy should have one last prayer with these students and the parents of these students (as many as will hear him), and pray that they all would leave such a godless institution. This is not a defeat to do such, as it is only half the story. The other half includes replacing this godless institution with many other godly institutions. It includes building the Kingdom. Joe should take as many kids with him when he leaves and restore them to the training of their own families (our first government). He should encourage all of the parents to put their kids in godly Christian schools or even better, homeschool! He should emphasize the importance of providing these children with good, solid, biblical, Christian worldviews. They should know that Jesus is Lord over all, not just in people’s hearts. They should realize that agnostic schools will be part of the footstool under Christ’s feet (Psalm 110:1).

Then start a community football league Joe. Teach at a Christian school Joe. Build the Kingdom. Depopulate the humanist schools. It is a great opportunity. It is victory. It is beating something by providing something better.

Educate yourselves on the history and intent of Government Schools. Two books I would recommend include Restoring America One County at a Time or The Messianic Character of American Education. Why these two works?……..primary sources!

“All too many churchmen view the undisciplined & amoral products of statist education as evidences of the failure of these schools. On the contrary, they are evidences of their success.”
